Thrombotic Hemorrhoid Treatment

A thrombosed external hemorrhoid is a blood clot that develops in small veins within anal tissue. Mild or moderate cases of thrombotic hemorrhoids may heal through home remedies such as pain medication, warm baths, stool softeners, or topical ointments.

For moderate to severe cases of thrombotic hemorrhoids, a small incision over the hemorrhoid may be made to evacuate the clot. Once the clot has been drained, the wound will be either be sutured to left alone to promote healing.
